TIME SAVERS

As we all know, fast is GOOD.  This type of background paper is easy to find - and they make the layout for you!  The thing that made this page even easier for me was a sheet of quilting template plastic.  First of all, I found these papers on clearance, so I bought 5 of them (I'm making 8 scrapbooks at once).  I knew I would use all of them, so I made a template for each photograph shape.  I layed the plastic on each picture spot, traced the lines using a permanent marker drawing in for the snowman's head, the reindeer's feet, etc.  Then I cut these out and traced them onto the photos.

This paper was a perfect background for this page.  It had the baby look I wanted, and the border was wide.  I only had these four small pictures and very little journaling to do.  Once again, it was fast.  Because the border is so cute, I didn't add mats to any of the pictures.  I had fun with the title at the top left corner.  I wrote Sarah's name, then outlined that with another color, then one other color.

The picture in the lower right corner of this page was cropped using one of my favorite techniques.  I placed a circle around just the children's heads and cut starting outside their lower bodies.  I then used my nice, sharp scissors to trim the lower edge, leaving their lower bodies in the picture.  This page was easily completed.  I found the perfect color of blue to bring out our children's eyes, made a margin down the left side of the page and used two triangles for the opposite two corners.  The pictures were already taking up the entire page, so this style let me forget about trying to mat any of them.
