James' Afgan
James' Blanket
This blanket belongs to my youngest son. I knit it
while I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, but since she was not a
boy, I stored it away in hopes that I would be pregnant
with a boy
again soon. And I was!
At the time I belonged to a knitting group that met every Monday for
1-1/2 hours. We would have a
"class" for the younger members, then knit (or crochet) our hearts out! It was great fun, and such a relaxing
time. I would wait for my
15-year-old to get home from school, then leave all the little kids with
her. I didn't get much time by
myself, so it was very relaxing.
And I couldn't believe all the projects I got done in that time.
This blanket is knitted from a two-ply yarn which is very soft. It's not very heavy, but it makes a
great bunting. The navy blue and
tan are nice neutral colors that go with almost anything. There is a garter stitch border, and
cables going up each "block", although the whole blanket is knit in one
piece. I love to knit blankets in
the winter because our family room is rather cool.

James' Blanket I knit it while I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, but since she was not a boy...
