This book
provides a wonderful application of clever origami techniques to traditional
quilt patterns that can expand every needlework artisans repertoire. It contains twenty-two
projects for quilts, pillows, vests, and other items including templates and
folding instructions for easy star, diamond, pinwheel, and other
designs. We recommend this book
for all levels.
Shibori: The Inventive Art of Japanese Shaped Resist Dyeing
Tradition Techniques Innovation
"THE book most used by artists"

The author, Yoshiko Wada,
covers the history of Shibori, it's artists and techniques with expertise
and beautiful photos. With only a few books on traditional Shibori in
English, in this book you will find an easy to read format. Techniques are
covered with clear, detailed instructions and diagrams. This is most helpful for
beginners yet allows the advanced to become more proficient and precise. The instructions for re-creating the patterns are clearly
explained and easy to follow. This book would serve equally
well as a reference work or even a coffee-table book for
those with an interest in textile art or art
history.
Shibori: The Art of Fabric Tying, Folding, Pleating and Dyeing

Somewhat limited in scope, but overall a
very nice, well illustrated book It includes a number of lovely
examples of things that are possible with shibori. Would be a good reference for
someone getting involved in Surface Design and Fabric manipulation. This
book seems worth its relatively modest
price.
